Pewpols was founded in 2019 by Niall David O'Sullivan (Point of U.), a passionate vintage eyewear collector who spent over 15 years researching and acquiring classic frames, before channelling that knowledge into a brand of his own.
The frames are produced in Oyonnax, France, by a small family-run atelier — master craftsmen with a long history of working with acetate. Each pair is handcrafted using the finest Italian acetate, ensuring durability and a premium finish.

The designs pay homage to vintage eyewear without simply replicating it. Pewpols frames are clearly informed by the past, but built around what the founder believes is the future of eyewear (Pointofreferences) — evident in details like sculpted temple tips, custom milling, and considered hardware choices that only reveal themselves when you hold the frame in your hands.
For the Pewpols Signature collection, entirely custom acetate was developed with Mazzuchelli in Italy — 12mm slabs produced exclusively for the brand, with a crystal acetate layer added to the back of each front to enhance volume without increasing visual depth.
